While location remains a major factor in selling a home, photos advertising the actual property should be given more attention, or at the least NOT left in the hands of a rookie agent.
The Hooked On Houses blog gathered up a bevy of real estate advertising photos that truly go down as the worst. If you are looking into NOT selling your home, you may want to emulate these amateur snapshots. What’s even more shocking about the photographs, a legitimate real estate agent was most likely the culprit as its their job to shoot the home.

According to real estate agent Nina Robayo, the biggest turnoff to any potential buyer is a messy home.
“It not only hurts your chances of having a decent turnout at an open house but it’s embarrassing and will almost certainly keep serious buyers away,” she told TRP.
Robayo, who has over a decade of experience in real estate, selling homes in the metro-New York area, urges homeowners to put away the obscure novelty items.
“Regardless of whether its the holiday season, I don’t want to see decorations,” she said. “The home should be cleared of all distractions.”
“When the agent arrives to your home to take photos, the absolute minimum should be in view. Buyers are concerned with size and and shape of the room – not your peculiar doll collection.”
“If your agent snaps a photograph with the buyer or their family in the shot, and has it published, you have a bad agent,” Robayo said. “They should request for the room to be cleared.”
And here’s another hot tip, make sure you have a shirt on when you snap a few pics of your home. Case in point below:
