
Grammy award winner Lauryn Hill was charged Thursday with failing to file three years of income tax returns. Hill performed Sunday at Summer Jam 2012 in Metlife Stadium.
TRENTON, New Jersey (TRP) – Rapper and actress Lauryn Hill was charged Thursday with willfully failing to file three years of income tax returns where she earned nearly $2 million, authorities said.
The Grammy award winner, who is fresh off from performing alongside iconic rapper Nas in a memorable set during HOT 97’s Summer Jam Sunday, was charged with three counts of failing to file tax returns.

Each count carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $100.000 fine.
According to U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman, during the calendar years of 2005, 2006 and 2007, Hill earned more than $1.6 million in income which she failed to file tax returns on.
L-Boogie is scheduled to appear on the charges before a judge on June 29.
