MASSACHUSETTS (TRP) – From diabetes to obesity, we’ve all been warned about the looming dangers behind eating fast food, but has it ever been considered a dangerous weapon? Apparently in Massachusetts it is.
According to police, 26-year-old James Hackett was arrested and charged for assaulting his stepdaughter after he threw a batch of McDonald’s french fries in her face.
Hackett, along with his wife and her 11-year-old daughter had reportedly just picked up their order through the drive-thru when a verbal dispute over money erupted between the two adults.
At some point, cops say the young girl attempted to stop the fight, getting between the pair. That’s when Hackett reportedly threw a container of French fries in the child’s face.
Although she was left uninjured, the Lowell police Department report said, “the heat of the oil could cause burning to skin and eyes.”
The Massachusetts man was subsequently arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon which he pleaded not guilty to at a recent court appearance.
Hackett is expected to be back in court August 10.
