GERMANY (TRP) – Some people are calling him “Father of the Year,” while others say he’s far from it. A man attempted to make his 5-year-old — who likes wearing dresses — feel more comfortable after he put on a skirt himself.
A photo that surfaced this week, shows the father Nils Pickert walking around his south German village with his son, both donning women’s clothing.
Nils told a local newspaper that at an early age his son took a liking to wearing dresses, and after much contemplation, he said he only had one option: to broaden his shoulders and put on a skirt for his “little buddy.”
His goal was to help the child grow up with a strong, positive role model.
According to Pickert, the decision has made his son a stronger, happier child:
“He’s simply smiling, when other boys ( and it’s nearly always boys) want to make fun of him and says: “You only don’t dare to wear skirts and dresses because your dads don’t dare to either.” That’s how broad his own shoulders have become by now. And all thanks to daddy in a skirt.”
