NEW YORK (TRP) — While many were going gaga for the release of the latest iPhone 5S this week, others were shrugging their shoulders.
Despite popular belief, there are many out there who haven’t hopped on the smartphone bandwagon. Natasha Campbell is one of them.
“Everywhere you look, someone is walking with their head in their phone,” she told PIX11 News. “It just frees up my life I feel like.”
The price tag isn’t a bad feature either, she said.
“You can’t beat $50. You get the same service as people with smartphones,” she said. “Life is simple.”
Peter Swahn says he’s a proud owner of his so-called “dumb phone.”
“I love it because it’s easy and not consuming,” he said. “You go to dinner and everyone is typing and looking down. No one talks to each other anymore.”
The tech savvy elite may take a few jabs at ‘dumb phone’ users every now and then, but the reality is– they aren’t the ones waiting long lines for an over-priced device that will see an upgrade as fast as you can say “there’s an app for that.“
After all these years, maybe Zack Morris was on to something.
