STATEN ISLAND (TRP) – When it comes to pop stars, it’s usually the fans who get overwhelmed with emotion.
The tables got turned however, at a recent show at the Barclays Center where Justin Timberlake was caught off guard when he came across a 10-year-old boy in the front row.
“How old are you man?” Timberlake asked the boy, just one of the many fans who turned up for JT’s 20/20 Experience tour stop in Brooklyn Sunday.
“I’m 10 years old but I’ve been watching you since I was two,” he responds.
Timberlake is taken aback by the fan that not only had a gift for the pop star, but a story.
That fan was 10-year-old Salvatore Romania and it turns out he wasn’t exaggerating.
“I’ve been watching him ever since I was 2 in front of my TV and I was just a dream,” Romania told PIX11 News as he recounted the moment.
“Like when he started opening the gift I was dying inside because he’s my idol.”
The gift was a bowtie which JT suggested he may be wearing come Christmas Day.
“Greatest gift ever because a gentleman could never have too many bowties,” Timberlake told Salvatore after opening the gift.
The moment between the boy and the global pop star has since exploded online, generating millions of views and warming hearts in the process.
A lot like Justin, Salvatore is a dancer who performs with the Brooklyn Nets’ Kids Dance team and has dreams to make it big one day.
“I hope one day we actually [get to] hang out,” Salvatore said. “[Me and Justin] can go to a game – Grizzlies versus the Nets, he could watch me dance.”
