NEW YORK (TRP) – Performing at New York’s iconic Radio City Music Hall is a dream many musicians have, and a very special group of local students are getting that very chance.
From as young as 6 to 18 years old – the talent is raw and in the process of getting ready for the Garden of Dreams Talent Show.
Since 2006, the non-profit charity has partnered with all areas of the Madison Square Garden Company to make dreams come true for children facing obstacles, including homelessness, extreme poverty, illness and foster care.
The foundation’s annual talent show gives participating children the one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take to Radio City’s Great Stage as their friends and family look on.
Leading up to the big night, the children get mentored by a panel of big-name entertainers which this year includes Run DMC’s Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and Disney star Ryan McCartan.
“You know you got kids with cancer, kids that can be on their death beds but what comes out of them is life,” McDaniels, who is serving as the show’s creative director, told PIX11 News. “That’s how you change the world.”
The talented youngsters take to the Radio City stage on Tuesday, June 17th. It’s free and open to the public. For more information, visit The Garden of Dreams website.
